TISCH graduated from the Department of Art Studies at Tokyo University of the Arts. During his studies, he specialized in aesthetics, focusing on the critique of capitalism through the lens of Theodor W. Adorno’s Aesthetic Theory. After refining his foundational skills in advertising photography at the Nippon Design Center, he moved to the United States in 2003 and launched his career in fashion and commercial photography in New York the following year.
In 2005, he established himself independently under the name "TISCH." His editorial work has since been featured in leading fashion and culture publications, including VOGUE, Harper’s BAZAAR, ELLE, Madame Figaro Japon, SPUR, and Pen. In 2012, he expanded his base to Paris, where he continues to work at the forefront of commercial photography while maintaining a personal practice dedicated to 35mm black-and-white film.
In recent years, TISCH has shifted significant focus toward filmmaking. Following his involvement in MIKIMOTO’s 125th-anniversary project, he has produced numerous documentary films documenting Japanese traditional crafts for prestigious clients such as TIFFANY and AUDEMARS PIGUET. As an active contemporary artist, he held "ANT," a solo exhibition themed around minerals, in 2024. He also leads cross-disciplinary projects as the creative director of "THEO BY FATE."
